Quantum simulation of lattice gauge theories

Strongly correlated quantum matter provides a natural framework for the emergence of gauge structures, making lattice gauge theories a powerful paradigm for describing phenomena ranging from high-energy physics to quantum materials. This PhD project aims to develop and employ advanced quantum algorithms for the simulation and characterization of lattice gauge theories on controllable platforms based on ultracold atoms and molecules, with particular emphasis on non-equilibrium dynamics and experimentally accessible observables.
