Quantum simulation of complex quantum systems

The study of strongly correlated quantum systems has revealed a wide spectrum of unconventional phases, including topological insulators and superconductors, as well as models described by lattice gauge theories, which play a key role in connecting condensed matter and high-energy physics. These systems are distinguished by their robustness and their potential relevance for quantum technologies. This Master’s thesis project will focus on the theoretical investigation of such phenomena through the application of quantum simulation techniques. In particular, the work will involve the implementation and analysis of representative models on controllable platforms based on ultracold atoms and molecules, with the goal of understanding their key physical properties and identifying measurable signatures
